How to Choose the Best JAMB Centre in Rivers State

The best way to choose the JAMB CBT Registration centre is to choose the one nearest to you. Choosing the right JAMB centre in Rivers State starts with identifying which approved centre is located in your area and which you can easily access.

Important Note: Please, if you’re residing in Rivers State, do register for UTME in Aba or any other state, because you may likely be sent to any JAMB Examination centre in that state. This is why it is always recommended to register for JAMB in a CBT centre near you.

Rivers State has a total of twenty-one (21) accredited JAMB Registration centres spread across major cities and Local Government Areas (LGAs). These accredited CBT centres are located in Port Harcourt, Elele, Elelenwo, Eleme, Igbo-Etche, Iriebe, and Oyigbo, allowing candidates to register for the UTME examination in a centre near them.

However, Port Harcourt, which is the capital city of Rivers State, has the highest number of approved centres in the state. Although, most of these registration centres get crowded easily during registration. I recommend you go very early in the morning before 9:00 AM.

There are numerous advantages to registering early, because it affords you the opportunity to choose the right centre.

Do not forget, the 2027/2028 JAMB UTME Registration will commence January 19th, 2027. The January 19th 2027 is when e-PIN sales commence, while the official JAMB registration starts January 26th, 2027.

Once the JAMB portal opens on the 19th of January 2027, quickly start your registration rather than waiting until the last week or month.

Once you register early, you stand a better chance of securing a convenient examination date and Centre close to you. Likewise, you will not be sent to a centre far from your preferred location, probably to remote villages.

Documents To Bring For 2027 JAMB CBT Examination

When going for the 2027 JAMB UTME examination, there are important documents you must bring to ensure your registration is successful.

Without these documents, you may get turned away entirely. Before you leave home, make sure you have your JAMB registration number and a printout of your registration slip.

Documents To Bring for 2027 JAMB CBT Registration

You are required to provide a valid means of identification. JAMB accepts a National ID card or international passport, WAEC result slip, or NECO result slip. Whatever document you bring, it should have your complete name and photograph, as officials will use it to verify your identity before registering you for the examination.

The document is to confirm that you are a Nigerian, you’re 16years and above (the required age before you can be offered admission into any Nigerian tertiary institution), and eligible.

If your visit is specifically for biometric capture, wear simple clothing and avoid putting on rings or accessories on your hands, as these can slow down the fingerprint capture process.
